The Roblox Community is made up of players and developers of all ages. We work hard to create a safe and fun environment for all of our community. To aid in this, we provide our players and their parents with numerous controls and safety features.
Chat & Privacy
Filtered chat is the default standard for all eligible communication on the platform, regardless of whether that chat is within a game or through Friends Chat.
Filtered Chat
- Blocks inappropriate content, such as discriminatory speech, bullying, extremism, violence, sexual content, etc.
- Blocks personal information and instructions on how to move off the platform.
- Messages with profanity will be rephrased into a safe and civil message automatically.
Players have different safety settings and games based on their age.
- Players aged 12 and younger have their posts and chats filtered both for inappropriate content and to prevent personal information from being posted.
Note: Voice chat with friends and chat without filters within Friends Chat is only available for trusted friends.
Games
- Restricted games that may feature “Strong Language” in their text and chat with voice communications are only available to users who have age checked.
In these games, users who are 18+ may be allowed to use profanity provided that they still comply with Restricted Content Policy and Community Standards. Roblox won’t allow language that is used to harass, discriminate, incite violence, or threaten others, or used in a sexual context.
Account owners have the ability to limit or disable who can chat with them, both in-app or in-game, who can send them messages, and who can follow them into games or invite them to private servers.

How to Report
You can block other users that may be harassing, bullying, or spamming your child. For more information on this feature, read How to Block Another User.
